Day 512

6/10/2008

...

Didn't do a whole lot today.

Did some laundry.

Hung out @ Barnes and Noble for a bit.

Read a little bit.

Looked through this View Master many times.

...

About the View Master...

Last fall the final project in the Foundations Semester 2 art classes needed to deal with the passage of time in some way. Which was easy. Many things show the passage of time.

A sequence of events...whatever really...

I printed out all of what had been done with the Daily Picture Project (at that point some 300 photos) and put it on a shit ton of foam board.

...

Scott decided to make View Masters.

The pictures (he placed in the View Master slide reels) depict in a sequence what may or may not be a rape.

The pictures depict in a sequence what may or may not be a girl laying in a ditch after she may or may not have fallen while walking.

I suppose it is up to the viewer...but I am pretty sure it is a rape.

...

It is sort of like the Degas painting titled:

The Interior(The Rape)

...

Anyways, Scott donated one of his View Masters to our house. We keep it on the window sill behind the white couch.

So, here's to Scott. For weirding people out who sit on that white fake leather couch...curious enough to look through that view master...only to realize those pictures do not show some cute little Disney characters marching around the forest...

...which is what I am sure 9 out 10 people think they will see when they pick that fucking thing up.

....

And hell...while I had the light tent out I decided to throw some random shit in there and take some pictures.

This is my Holga medium format camera.

Oh Holga...

....

random update

"Will you shoot my wedding?"

"ummm, no."

"Why not?"

"Because we have slept with each other before."

"So..."

"So...I don't know...it's just weird."

"How much do you charge"

"That depends...I would probably give you a discount"

"Why?"

"Because we have slept with each other before"

"Well...Just don't tell my fiance"

haha.

Whenever I create a new post, I publish it before I edit it. I like to see how it looks in it final format and edit it from there. Sometimes it can be over half an hour between when I first publish it and when it's actually a completed post.

Just this morning I was thinking about that weird null-time time in which my post exists publicly on the internet but isn't completed. I was wondering about how weird it would be if someone were to look at my blog during that time. If they pressed the refresh button every minute or so, something in that post would be different. Sometimes it would be just a word, sometimes photos would be entirely resized or rearranged, sometimes I would have deleted or added whole passages.

I then thought about how unlikely it would be that that happen, though.

You commented tonight during my null-time.
