Day 544

Gorillaz - Demon Days

(Today's word is Ambulation)
...

...

This was taken behind Naropa.

By family housing.

...

I used the Scott Lawan method of setting an exposure (in this case f 5.6 @8 second ISO 250) and then running through the scene with a flash in hand, firing it at the foreground.

I came running from camera left.

On my approach I fired the flash once towards the branches.

As I passed in front of the tree I fired the flash at the trunk.

...if you move quick enough you wont show up in the exposure.

...

anyways

...

The weather was nice today.

Much cooler.

The morning felt great.

...

I ran some errands today.

...

Stopped by Safeway on baseline to pick up some batteries, and I saw Tom Bond.

He was working.

He works @ the Starbucks inside that Safeway.

...

...

...

Stacy left today.

I just found an empty room with keys left on the table.

Bye Stacy.

...

...

Now it's just myself and Lacey.

...

I hope I don't get too lonely.

...

...

"In these demon days it's so cold inside.
So hard for a good soul to survive.
You can't even trust the air you breathe,
cuz mother earth wants us all to leave.

When lies become reality,
you numb yourself with drugs and TV.
Pick yourself up it's a brand new day
So turn yourself 'round, don't burn yourself, turn yourself

turn yourself around into the sun.

When I was in a high school photography class, we had to experiment with multiple exposures. With no outside inspiration, I came up with this idea of taking dark pictures and lighting different things with a flash-in-hand.

For one picture, I set up a tripod in my basement facing a solid concrete wall, turned off the lights, and had one of my family members hold down the shutter on the bulb setting (my dad didn't have a remote for his old film SLR). I then had another family member shoot a handheld flash at me while I was in a running-like pose in an old football jersey, then I switched to a different colored jersey and did the same thing on the opposite side of the frame.

It actually turned out pretty cool.
