I was confused about the blog updates on the NIN.com website last night. They don't list as an archive on the front page like this blog does. I saw a post from them eating @ a restaurant on S. Federal in Denver. The next post was a blurry image from a car with the caption
"Success. Aunt Linda and Ashley came to the rescue"
...
I found out this morning that because the last show was in Lexington Kentucky, the band flew to Colorado instead of riding the tour bus, which pretty much gave them a day off. While the crews drove to Colorado, they bummed around, and hit up a restaurant on S. Federal. Last night they needed to get back downtown, and no cabs would come pick them up. They figured it was in a sort of bad area, and the cabs refused to come get them. So they (I think Alessandro and Rob) made a post (one I didn't see) about the six of them needing a ride. Apparently they were putting out updates on Twinkle/Twitter on their iphones asking any NIN fans around the area to come give them a ride. They offered tickets or whatever, "you name it, you got it, just come get us!"
And then, some chick and her Aunt Linda came and got them.
If I would have read that I would have jumped in my car right then.
Oh well. That would have been hilarious.
Alessandro made a post today linking to the Echoing The Sound forum thread with all the Colorado fans talking about what happened, and how many of them ended up there after the band had been picked up...the people @ the restaurant were confused by all the people who were showing up to take pictures of the place...anyway...Alessandro's comment was "Now THAT's social networking"
haha. Silly internets.
