For our first critiqued photo assignment we were assigned to photograph Blue. We could take this literally or metaphorically. I chose the latter.
For that I shot several pictures based around what a twenty something college student might struggle with. I picked alcoholism, money, school...and ultimately suicide. This is a re-shoot of the suicide picture. Originally Scott and I mixed corn syrup with with some oatmeal (to add texture to give the feel of brain matter) and splattered it against the tiled wall in Scott's shower. I then had Scott lay down with only his feet hanging out of the tub...so it looked like he shot himself. Only moderately satisfied with these pictures we did a re-shoot mixing ground beef (I know I know...I am pretty much a horrible person for using ground beef and will never forgive myself for that shit) with chocolate syrup and pretty much just threw it against Scott's wall. Unfortunately it comes out way to thick in the pictures (in my opinion).
This project is due this Thursday. I may just go with original...this is just way to fake.
