I used to be bit of a Phish fan. I mean...I still am, but I don't listen to them very often anymore, but today while running some errands I dialed them in on ipod. And suddenly I became nostalgic. I remembered the summer after my senior year of high school when myself and three of my friends road tripped to Wisconsin to see Phish for two nights at Alpine Valley.
I mean this was the first time in my life I really thought something along the lines of, " Oh...the good old days. The days when things were different"
We didn't let anything bother us, whatever came our way we faced with cool and calm. "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro," was our motto from HST. Like when we showed up in East troy just thinking we could book a hotel room that day. The first hotel we walked into the Manager just laughed at us.
"You think you guys can just drive in a get a hotel room? Every hotel room is booked within 30 miles from here."
But just Because he was a nice guy he called around, and coincidentally a receptionist on one end was on the other line with a man canceling his reservation. Perfect.

Life in high school was so carefree. I mean, really...what did you ever have to worry about?
That isn't to say this period of life isn't carefree. When you break it down there is work and school...and while both of those can be overwhelming at times...it is still a mostly carefree life.
I feel like life comes on in varying levels. Then years down the line I will remember the days of college. Walking home from the bars watching my drunk friend bang his head against shop windows. Recalling all the days I could just wake up and skip class or whatever was going on that day...
And then sooner or later I will be so old that I will worry about going outside because there is too much ice...I might fall and break a fucking hip or something.
